DIY // NO SEW BUSINESS CARD HOLDER

do it yourselfLauren-1 Comments

I honestly don't know why I haven't made a business card holder before. I've found that this is essential to keep your business cards prestine. I always used to keep my cards in my wallet and they'd end up getting all beaten up and sometimes a little dirty (gasp). So I decided to come up with this no sew leather business card holder that's totally chic in my opinion, but let's be honest, I'm biased. As I was making this I was also totally thinking this would make such a cute clutch if it was bigger as well.

Y o u ' l l   N e e d: Leather, gold paint, exacto knife, strong glue (I used welbond), scissors, paint brush, some kind of fastener (I just used some leather cord and beads) and the business card holder template (see bottom of post). S T E P  O N E: Take some existing business cards and measure how much leather you're going to need. Make sure to leave plenty of space on the sides of the card for the glue and just for breathing room.

S T E P   T W O: Once your piece is cut run a small line of glue down the sides of where it will be folded. Then fold it over and put some books or heavy items on top to make sure it stays.

S T E P   T H R E E: Print out the business card template (see bottom of post for link) and use your exacto knife to cut out the black areas. Beware, this is tedious work my friends.

S T E P   F O U R: Place the template over your leather holder and gently dab paint overtop. I've found that if you don't have a lot of paint on your paintbrush that the less likely it is to spread underneath the template.

S T E P   F I V E: Once that's done, grab some leather cord or another kind of fastener that will be able to keep it shut. Ta-da! Now all of your business cards will be nice and safe and they'll look super stylish when you take them out too. Huzzah!

Wild & Free Photography Session

This day was absolutely perfect. Everything from the lighting to the wind and the gorgeous weather. I loved doing this shoot and I think it's my best yet! I've had this idea of creating a super long flowy skirt and using it in a photoshoot for such a long time that it's really wonderful to have it come to fruition. There were also some unbelievably gorgeous apple blossoms that we got to use, despite the unbelievable amount of bees. I was pretty proud of myself, since I have a crippling fear of bees. Like embarrassingly so. :)  Thanks for stopping by! :)

Geek Style // Watercolour Wallpapers

design, freebiesLauren-1 Comments

Yesterday, I mentioned that I was off to do some water colouring. Well technically it wasn't really watercolour! I actually did these using food colouring. If you've been following me on instagram, you've probably seen my business cards that I dyed with food colouring. Seriously, food colour has so many more uses beyond just food. So today, I'm bringing you some new "geek style" for your desktops and to give them more life for summer! H O W   T O   D O W N L O A D: click the wallpaper you want to use and right click either save it to your computer to use or right click and click "Use Image as Desktop Picture"•    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •
